If you are about to place a property on the market, you will first need an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC). If you are a Landlord and you are about to rent out a property then you will also need an EPC.

  • An Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) measures the energy efficiency of a property and rates it on a sliding scale depending on how efficient it is. Ratings are from A-G with A being the most efficient and G being the least.

  • If you're looking to sell your home, then you'll need an EPC assessment completed to go alongside your listing to show potential buyers how energy efficient the home is. If you're a landlord, it's a legal requirement to have an up-to-date Energy Performance Certificate and recent rules mean that the property has to meet Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards (MEES) of an E rating or above in order to comply with regulations.
